Margin

Where reading sticks.

Reading isn't the hard part. Remembering what mattered is.

Margin is for the sentence you underlined on page 134 and the question it put in your head. It keeps your thinking next to the text, so the reading has somewhere to go after you close the book.

What Margin does

Your library, your thinking, your people.

Track what you've read, what you're reading, and what's next

One library for past reads, current reads, and future reads, with a quick search when you want to find a book again.

Revisit ideas without digging or re-reading everything

Quotes, notes, and reviews stay attached to the book, so the idea you saved is one tap away months later.

How Margin Works

Most reading apps track progress. Margin tracks thinking.

  1. 01

    Add books

Build your library: past reads, current reads, future reads.

  2. 02

    Write in the margins

Save thoughts, quotes, and questions directly to each book.

  3. 03

    Read together (or don't)

Join groups, share books, and keep conversations threaded and readable.

  4. 04

    Come back later

Your notes stay with the book. Always.

What Margin isn't

A few things we decided early.

Not a leaderboard.
No streaks, no reading challenges, no annual bar chart. Reading isn't a sport, and shame isn't a product feature.
Not another feed.
You see other readers' notes when you look for them. Nothing scrolls past you demanding a reaction.
Not performative.
Every book, every note, every list has a privacy toggle. Share what you want seen. Keep the rest for yourself.
Not a Goodreads clone.
Star ratings and shelves are fine. We're more interested in the sentence that changed your mind on page 212.

The idea behind Margin

Margin isn't about remembering what you read. It's about remembering what you thought while reading it, and discovering what those ideas mean to other people.
